I am Dana Homesley and I am running for a seat on the Lexington District One School Board. I grew up in Irmo but I’ve called Lexington home since 2011. I am a graduate of Clemson University, with a major in History and a minor in Political Science. My husband, David, and I are college sweethearts and have been together for almost 18 years. We have a third grader and kindergartener who attend Lexington Elementary. I am secretary of the PTA and an elected member of the School Improvement Council.

An effective school board and the decisions they make contribute to the quality of public education. Three years ago, I began attending school board meetings, putting my time and energy into learning all I could about school board governance, policies, processes, procedures, and the laws and regulations that a school district must follow. Having faithfully attended meetings, I am ready to hit the ground running once elected to the Lexington One School Board.

I am a cofounder of the Facebook page Informed Citizens of Lexington County School District One, a page committed to keeping the community informed of news and business of the school board and the district.
